I just hate that it seems they added Sheva because people were calling the game racist. I mean, in the first trailer, Chris against like 50+ people seemed like a good idea. But then Sheva came along (don't get me wrong, I was excited for Co-Op) and it seemed like it wouldn't have the same charm.
Heck, if you even look at some cutscenes, Sheva isn't even there.

Come to think of it all we really know is that she was trained by a friend who is in that game. We don't know anything else about her or her background, family whatever.

It's because she's ninja like that. Haha, kidding. So they never explain anything about her in the game? And it is rediculous that they added her because of the racist claims. And further more, didn't they complain that she was to light skinned? If this is so racist, why wasn't there a huge up roar about RE4? ...maybe because it's not racist.
Random: I was so tempted to vote on "What about the Jews"

Come to think of it all we really know is that she was trained by a friend who is in that game. We don't know anything else about her or her background, family whatever. At the age of 7, Sheva’s parents died in what appeared to be a factory accident. Her uncle came to take Sheva and house her in his home along with 7 other children. One day Sheva ran away from her uncles house into the savanna where she was found by a truck driver who housed and fed her, but little did she know that this truck driver was a member of the guerrilla group. She later joined the anti-government guerrilla group where she learned that what happened to her parents was much more than a simple accident. The factory was the location of a final test of one of Umbrella's many BOWs. With the help of the government's army, Umbrella erased Sheva's village and its inhabitants once the test was complete. Sheva remained with the guerrillas through her childhood. She was 15 when she was contacted by American operatives to stop Umbrella from selling a BOW to the guerrillas. With Sheva's help, the operatives stopped the deal and apprehended the Umbrella salesman. The man who initially contacted Sheva offered her a chance to start her life again in America. Sheva accepted. Within months, Sheva was speaking English like a native and enrolled in a university two years later. After graduation, her benefactor suggested she join the BSAA. While Umbrella had dissolved years before this, Sheva's hatred of Umbrella and all others like them led her to join the BSAA. Sheva was assigned to Josh Stone's unit for eight months for training. Upon completion of her training, BSAA. chose her to become an agent.

That could be. But even Sheva isn't immune from the racist remarks. I don't know how many times I've seen in the "Race War" people complaining about just that, she was added to pacify people, and then they follow up with and she isn't black enough.

Their are quite a few of the characters throughout the series that are of different races. I think that almost every race has been depicted at one time or another in the games....

Pretty much. If not it's because the first several resided in America like the intro to Resident Evil Zero and I believe Remake as well said.

Well of course. When your in America and kill zombies of multiple races, your not racist, when you go to Spain and kill parasite infected villagers, which mind you, are just as poor as the ones in RE5, your not racist. But go into Africa and kill "zombies" OMG YOUR SO RACIST YOU TERRIBLE PERSON!!!11!!123!

When you're one color/ethnic group and do something any of the others disapprove of, you're racist.
Anymore, racism (as well as African American slavery, for that matter, which I wouldn't be surprised if somebody tries to fit that in there somewhere) is merely a parody, used as a tool to gain an agenda. Look at this @$$-wad N'Gai Croal (if I was named "N'Gai Croal", I'd have hung myself the moment I learned to tie a knot...): Just because he didn't like RE5, he cried racism and it got his name and face plastered all over TV and Internet. Now he's getting paid bank to go all over the place and insult anyone who disagrees with him about RE5 in his stupid little interviews. Just because a person doesn't believe RE5 is racist, it doesn't mean they can't understand racism.
You know, for as long as I can remember, Caucasians by the hundreds were enslaved in North Africa and sold as laborers and concubines all over the world from North Africa to the Middle East. For example, Aimee du Buc de Rivery, a cousin of Empress Josephine de Beauharnais of France, was captured by North African pirates in 1784 and sold into the Sultan's harem in Istanbul, after which she was never heard from again. I'll bet N'Gai Croal doesn't have a problem with that.
Like I said previously, I think he is the racist one.

That site is among the worst when it comes to the threads about racism in RE5. But I guess that is to be expected, most of the people who actually do post there are trolls and flamers. It's why I won't post there.

That guy really needs to keep his lips closed about something like that. It's just a game and very uncalled for.

That guy really needs to keep his lips closed about something like that. It's just a game and very uncalled for. Well it's not that it's just a game. If there was a game that had a white guy shooting up black people for no reason, then it would be racist. But your right, it was uncalled for. He just thinks because he's black he can cry racism. Which is the same thing as me saying rape or sexual harassment if a man bumps into me or cry sexism if a man doesn't hold a door open for me.

Remind me never to bump into you and to always hold your door open. Haha. Well I hope people just ignore it. It's really stupid and doesn't need anymore attention than it has. (Good one Spartan).
