Previously we were having a lot of fun criticizing people who think RE5 is racist, so I figured I'd start it up again so we can continue to make fun of those people.

Black people kill white people, white people kill black people. Same with asians, Japanese, UK etc.

You are right there Spartan!!! The people who cry racism over RE5 have some very serious issues that can only be addressed through intensive psychiatric therapy....

I agree there isn't anything racist about any of the RE games... The issue really isn't about who you are killing anyways. Racism by definition means a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race.

The issue is that it can't be racism because you aren't killing them because of their race, but because they are trying to munch on your booty. In the case of RE5 and all RE games the player is killing the people and critters as a matter of self defense. So that throws the old race card right out the window. Those that cry racism are merely trolls who are wishing to start trouble.

I found another interview or whatever with that N'Gai Croal, the guy who originally cried racism, and he had an interesting comparison between RE4 & 5.

It’s not as simple as saying, “Oh, they shot Spanish zombies in ‘Resident Evil 4,’ and now ‘black zombies and that’s why people are getting upset.” The imagery is not the same. It doesn’t carry the same history, it doesn’t carry the same weight. I don’t know how to explain it more clearly than that.

Ah, so it's racist when the enemies are black like you, but everything's kosher when it's another ethnic group? Hmm, I wonder how you'd react if the situation was reversed and it was a black protagonist killing white people? I'd bet my right arm that you wouldn't have a single word of complaint. In fact, you'd probably praise them for "putting whitey in his place".

What was not funny, but sort of interesting, was that there were so many gamers who could not at all see it. Like literally couldn’t see it. So how could you have a conversation with people who don’t understand what you’re talking about and think that you’re sort of seeing race where nothing exists?

So because I don't think RE5 is racist, I'm incapable of understanding racism and racism can't be discussed with me?

That's pretty much the same thing as you saying "F you, the game's racist because I say it is" to every individual who disagrees with you.


N'Gai Croal, sir, you are a hypocrite and by perceiving RE5 as racist, you are in fact admitting that you yourself are racist and narrow-minded. Yes, racism is still prevalent in the world, but not everyone in the world is racist like you.

Who said it was a big deal? It is fun to discuss the idiocy of people. The "big deal" is purely in his head.

But the fact of the situation is that RE5 is set in Africa, so there's obviously going to be a majority of dark-skinned inhabitants. Unless he thinks everyone in Africa is white or Asian or something, in which case he needs to go back to school.
