My father has never believed in the Catholic religion and it is his belief that religion causes a lot of problems for people - due to fanatical groups fighting each other. I agree, and that problem is no more prevalent anywhere than in the US (at least to my current knowledge), where we seem to be locked into some kind of so-called "religious war". Again, I agree completely. According to some, we're supposed to "turn the other cheek" when we're attacked (e.g., fanatics flying airliners into skyscrapers), but someone who's born with an alternate sexual preference is "the ultimate form of evil" and should be shunned and ostracized for it. It's hypocrisy.

Hmm.. Im not religious in any way - mainly because my parents aren't.. and I've not being brought up to believe in anything religious. When my fathers mother was alive my sister and I went to church a little - but only because she was Catholic. My father has never believed in the Catholic religion and it is his belief that religion causes a lot of problems for people - due to fanatical groups fighting each other. I would perhaps agree with my father here - personally I see religion as being very secretive especially the Catholic religion I think it is the Catholic religion anyhow - please correct me if Im wrong) in the Vatican for example - hiding various things away inside the city and so on. Well so my parents said after they visited Rome so... Also a major problem with "some" religion for me is the anti-gay sentiment that some of them have.. mainly because I have a lot of friends who are gay and it is upsetting to me that they are treated badly by some sectors of society for being who they are.Of course this is not EVERY2 religious person who behaves that way but some I have come across whilst out with my friends have been downright nasty to them so.. However.. although I am not religious - I dont think it would be respectful of me to stop others talking about religion or believing in it. Usually I simply say Im not religious , explain why and the discussion moves on! Each to their own I say. I am actually a little concerned my post might inflame some ill advised discussion so if it does feel free to delete it. I apologise in advance for if that happens. I tried to stay neutral whilst putting across my viewpoint. No, no I think your right.
