Well he deleted the entire Chat Forum so something is up with him. What's his full name anyways? Ryan what?

He claims he didn't do it. He says someone must have hacked the site, which is possible. I've just never saw a hacker who came in and cleaned up a site. Which is really what they did, most of the topics in those forums were old and locked anyways. There were a couple active conversations, but those have already been duplicated.
And Tvirus is right. We shouldn't have to track him down at other sites. Which by the way I refuse to do. He left me in charge of the site because he trusts that I will take care of it properly for him. The least he could do is to answer pm's or emails that are sent to him when a problem does arise that I can't take care of.

True. Even if he did do it it would be bad to find him and question him about it. PM's are still good though.

Not when he's almost never on anymore. He practically abandoned the site, and now goes to other ones.

True. Even if he did do it it would be bad to find him and question him about it. PM's are still good though. I don't think it would be bad to question him or any other admin that did something like that. When you start a site and get members you have a responsibility to those members. If you don't want to or can't do what is necessary you need to close the site or hand the reigns over to someone else. The problem here is that while Ryan put me in charge as main administrator, I still don't have access to things like the logs. Only the root admin ever has access to those and having access to the logs enables you to find the problems that are caused by hackers because forum software logs every one of your actions. He claimed that hackers must have gotten hold of his password or were able to hack it and that when he was told he came and changed it, this was just a week or so ago. The thing is that he lied. He's not been here since April 24th and in order to change your password, you need to sign in. It is perfectly fine if he either can't be here or doesn't want to be, but it is wrong for him to lie. Had he done as he said and not lied, I might be able to figure out why some of the posts in the Advertising forum have disappeared since yesterday. Not when he's almost never on anymore. He practically abandoned the site, and now goes to other ones. This is what makes me angry. He says his life is too busy for forums, yet he is on others all the time. But he can't find a minute to come here and change his password so that we can quit being hacked. What he really needs to do is give me the password so that I can change it periodically since he obviously doesn't care for the site any longer and changing your password to the admin controls occasionally is the surest way to keep the hackers at bay. It won't stop them all, but it puts a huge dent in them.

I deleted a couple of duplicate posts, but forgot to note it in the site log. Sorry. Once again that was again. Sorry. As for Ryan then don't bother. You're the Admin now Ashe and since he pretty much left here you own this place now. (Despite the Log part).

Well I'd still try and get his password.
Are you serious...he lied about that? Well, he lied to you twice, and all of us. Like you said he said his life had gotten to busy for forums, yet he seems to have time for all the others and more. It's really nice to know that he doesn't have time for us anymore. I'm wondering how active those other forums are, that may be why...

Yeah. Well at least we are still on this Site. It's kind of sad though. I would dream of owning a Site like this and he's tossing it aside like yesterdays garbage.

Aha, no problem... I spent an hour yesterday morning trying to figure a way to find out what had happened without access to the logs... Yea his last log in date was April 24, which happened to be the day that the Forums topics all got deleted and his name was replaced as the moderator to those forums and back up as main admin. When he responded back to Spartan, (which by the way ticks me off a bit as I sent him a couple pm's and emails yet he still hasn't answered me), he said someone must have gotten it or hacked it so he went and changed it. So, knowing that he says one thing and does another I checked and sure enough he'd not even been here to do that. And you can only do something like that from here. And I might add that he still hasn't been back, it still says the last log in date was April 24th. I wouldn't have the slightest problem handing the reigns back to him should he come back. And the last time he "returned and this time to stay" I said as much. I might add that his return lasted a whole day or two. I am believe me. As long as I don't have that password and if Ryan is going to stay gone, the board is at risk of getting hacked again and again. I have had a forum of my own since 2006. I happen to have 3 separate boards now, RPGer's Heaven II, Raccoon City, and The Enchanted Garden, and I have never been hacked on any of those sites. You want to know why? I learned from the very first forum I made RPGer's Heaven (RPGer's II is a remake of that board). If you don't change your password frequently you are left vulnerable. You must change your password frequently and ALWAYS[/U][/COLOR] make it random, never anything that is well known about you. Some would say then I run the risk of forgetting it. Well all you have to do is to keep a book on your passwords at home. I have a little book that I keep mine in that is kept in my desk, under lock and key of course. I agree, and if you do find yourself unable to maintain it any longer you owe it to your members to hand the reigns over to someone else or just shut the site down.

Well based on the evidence he wasn't responsible enough to run a site.

Well based on the evidence he wasn't responsible enough to run a site. Not everyone is cut out to run a forum or site. It does take a lot of patience because of course you will be dealing with many different people. Plus you can't expect to have a ton of activity or to get members easily right off the bat. It takes a lot of time and effort to generate activity and get members. This is because there are tons of forums and sites for almost every type of topic there is, so there are most likely numerous sites on the topic you yourself wish to make a site on. About all you can do is to offer things or content that no other site does, which isn't an easy matter especially on certain topics like Resident Evil, where there are a million sites based on it. Most "new or exclusive" info has already been snatched up...

Then my Forum idea dies as of now. Turns out there's already a Forum called Resident Evil Final Days.
So much for that.

Oh, don't give up. We'll back you up all the way.
But either way, not only did he carelessly throw this site away, but he didn't hand it over properly and never really took good care of it.
