D**n hackers have struck!
I don't know about you guys, but from my end I'm seeing all kinds of Photobucket "image moved or deleted" warning messages all over the site.
I wonder if Ryan has ever considered remaking REUF on a different board or something as a possible solution, since hackers and spammers seem to flock to this place like crows to a T-virus outbreak.

Well it could be that whoever posted the images have somehow broken the links by moving the images in their image hosting accounts. But I agree, proboards are not the best free forum software out there. They have lots of issues with how easily the sites can be hacked. Myself, I prefer Zetaboards. It is a free forum software that is an improvement on Invisionfree forum software. They have tons of built in security. But with that being said, most hacking and spamming could be stopped or greatly reduced by changing the permissions to not allow guests to post.

Last time I conversed with Ryan via PM, he said he did revoke guest posting.

He still allows it in the advertising forum. Everyone of the spam attacks have been in that forum, that is because it is the only place they can post. They aren't members, the mini profile even have them as guests.
The most logical explanation is that who ever posted the images have done something to the image hosting account like delete them or moved them to a folder or something and this broke the link.

Yea it sucks, and doesn't make the forum look nice. I hate seeing a lot of broken links on sites, but it generally happens. Especially when a site has died and then been resurrected.

Not unless the person who posted them reposts the links. And most of the older members of this site aren't around any longer. I think besides Ryan and Pablo, I'm the next oldest member.

^You, myself, Leon, and Pancakeman (though he hasn't been online in a while---work, I presume, as he does supposedly work for Capcom) are the only ones I recall right off hand that stuck around through the dead spell.

Yes it does. If you guys want, send me the links to the posts that have dead links for images, and if they aren't in a thread that is active I can delete them, or just edit out the link for the image in question.

From what I can see, it's pretty much everything, even smilies, in every thread except images in our personal Photobucket accounts. It's also happening at HLV.
But the other day I PMed a spam report to Pablo on HLV and he responded pretty quickly. I'll head over there now and PM him about this and have him inform Ryan.
But, for the record, I wouldn't count this place as dead just yet. I would imagine school is preventing Ryan, Pablo, and Leon from being online regularly.
Edit: Okay, I've sent the PM. Hopefully Ryan will come online and fix this soon.
