I totally agree with remaking historical movies if they are going to try to make them more accurate. However, if they are going to do like they did with 300, I'd prefer they leave them be. Because to me, the real stories of those events are great in and of themselves and don't need the huge rhinos and such to make the story interresting.

I really hate that Hollywood is running out of ideas and just remaking things. Just take a look at all these new movies, they seem to be based off something. I agree with you. Movies like the new Conan and Metal Gear Solid are on seemingly indefinite hold while they continually pump out funding for movies that are great the way they are. If they're gonna do remakes, at least target some cult classics. Movies like Atlantis: The Lost Continent, The 300 Spartans, Ben Hur, and Clash of the Titans come to mind. Ashe, I'm sure you can agree with me here. How cool would a modern remake of The 300 Spartans be, considering that we've got a lot more concrete historical knowledge about Sparta and the Greco-Persian Wars than we did in 1962? They're already remaking that?! I think they are even making a remake of Robocop........ Let's wait for some details on this to come out before we condemn it, though. I Am Legend is a remake. It's based off the book, I Am Legend, but first there was one with Vincent Price titled (I think) the Last Man On Earth. Then came the Omega Man, and then I Am Legend.

And another thing about them running out of ideas is having them based off novels, comics etc. Sometimes they do get those kind right, (IE Spiderman 2, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight) but sometimes they make me not want to even go in their direction again. Note: Sorry about double post.
