Yes indeed it does. The scheduled date is February 13, 2009. It is to be a remake combining the first couple of movies. Here is a link to my horror based forum The Terror Box I have a few posts concerning the movie, one is some footage of the movie, and the other is a picture of the new sign. You will have to register however to see those forums because I've made them for members only because I've got some scripts posted.

I just hope it doesn't ruin the series.... I really didn't like the new Halloween as much as the original.
And the day they make a remake of A Nightmare On Elm Street is the day I stop liking horror (maybe). I just loved the first ones so much.

From what I've been able to gather, they are really taking their time with this remake and are going to try to keep it as true to the originals as they can. So far from what I've seen, it's looking good. I also heard they are remaking the Nightmare on Elmstreet. (The first one.) And be in for some major changes, not good ones either. Nancy is rumored to be blonde. And sit down please as this will be a shocker.... I heard that Robert Englund was not going to be playing Freddy.... I am hoping that this is just a rumor...

I Am Legend- Remake I think they are even making a remake of Robocop........ And regarding that little thing about Robert Englund, that really is (Stupid). I mean, he played Freddy in every movie to date, and even in Freddy Vs Jason, which was a bit newer than the others. It shows the Robert is still willing to play him. If they do make it with all those changes, I'm expecting even more too. And that's good about Friday The 13th, hopefully it only has minor changes.

I couldn't agree with you more Leon. The remakes that have come out have been garbage for the most part, with the exception of Texas Chainsaw Massacre and The Hills Have Eyes (the first one). They stayed true to the story and really only updated them somewhat for the times. The worst offender being Rob Zombie's take on Halloween. He changed way too much of the story and made it more about graphic gore and sex, which is typical of him. I believe he thinks a good movie has to have tons of blood (which can be a good thing when done right, but he somehow never can get it done right.) and boobs and booty.
I find it hard to believe that Wes Craven would make such a horrible mistake by removing Robert Englund as Freddy. Wes is no idiot, and a master at what he does. I'm hoping it will end up being just a rumor. But then maybe Robert has heard of the changes they plan to make and wants no part of it. Why would he want to be associated with garbage? He can pick and choose his parts.
Also from what I've been able to find out, which granted isn't much as they are staying pretty closed mouthed about the Friday remake, they don't plan on changing much of the story at all. From what I can gather, it will be along the lines of TCM in that they will just be updating it for the times. It is supposed to be combining the first 3 movies I believe. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, as I love the series and would hate for it to turn out like the Halloween one did.

Very cool find!!! I saw an image like this one but it was way smaller and had the lake with a person in it (you only saw the back of their head) with the fog rolling in across the lake. But you couldn't see Jason very well.

Jason has a pretty big neck in picture one.
And in picture 2 he looks badass.
And I don't think they are the same ones. They have different hair and clothes. I might be wrong though.

No they aren't and according to what I've seen, they are going back to the roots of the movie. They are making him more like he was in the beginning. And it isn't going to be the same guy. Kane Hodder played Jason in Jason X (along with a few of the others.) And Derek Mears is slated to play him in this one.
This is the cast that I found for it on IMDb: Jared Padalecki ... Clay Danielle Panabaker ... Jenna Amanda Righetti ... Whitney Travis Van Winkle ... Trent Derek Mears ... Jason Voorhees Aaron Yoo ... Chewie Arlen Escarpeta ... Lawrence Julianna Guill ... Bree Willa Ford ... Chelsea Ryan Hansen ... Nolan Jonathan Sadowski ... Wade Ben Feldman ... Richie Nick Mennell ... Mike America Olivo ... Amanda Nana Visitor ... Pamela Voorhees Other cast: Richard Burgi ... Sheriff Bracke Chris Coppola ... Clerk Kyle Davis ... Donnie Caleb Guss ... Young Jason Voorhees Travis Davis ... Officer Lund

I really hate that Hollywood is running out of ideas and just remaking things. Just take a look at all these new movies, they seem to be based off something. I agree with you. Movies like the new Conan and Metal Gear Solid are on seemingly indefinite hold while they continually pump out funding for movies that are great the way they are. If they're gonna do remakes, at least target some cult classics. Movies like Atlantis: The Lost Continent, The 300 Spartans, Ben Hur, and Clash of the Titans come to mind. Ashe, I'm sure you can agree with me here. How cool would a modern remake of The 300 Spartans be, considering that we've got a lot more concrete historical knowledge about Sparta and the Greco-Persian Wars than we did in 1962? They're already remaking that?! I think they are even making a remake of Robocop........ Let's wait for some details on this to come out before we condemn it, though.
